The exit points from the transmission system are the border transfer stations Waidhaus and Obernhau on the territory of Germany, Hora Svaté Kateřiny on the territory of the Czech Republic, and 84 instate transfer stations. Gas is delivered to domestic sales partners via them.

From the technical aspect, the transmission system of RWE Transgas Net consists of high and very high pressure pipelines with nominal pressures from PN 4.0 MPa to PN 8.4 MPa. The overall length of pipelines is 3 640 km and there is a predominance of pipes with a bore exceeding 500 mm (DN 100 to DN 1 400).

Underground gas storage facilities

On the territory of the Czech Republic, RWE Transgas Net operates six underground gas storage facilities in the localities of Dolní Dunajovice, Tvrdonice, Štramberk, Lobodice, Třanovice and Háje with an overall storage capacity of 2 055 million m3. The role of the gas storage facilities is to store excess gas in the summer and to cover winter needs, including consumption peaks in periods with low external temperatures, i.e., the ensuring of an even balance between sources and consumption of natural gas in the Czech Republic.
