Environmental protection, Health and Safety
The business of NET4GAS is intrinsically connected with natural gas. Of all non-renewable resources, gas is the most environmentally friendly. Unlike solid fuels, it is ash-free after combustion and does not fill the atmosphere with hazardous pollutants. Few people recognize the fact that gas pipelines do not spoil the landscape. NET4GAS operates 3,640 kilometres of pipelines in the Czech Republic. Restrictions are enforced where gas pipelines have been laid and construction is prohibited in these areas. As a result, unique biotopes hosting a variety of protected plant and animal species often develop.
NET4GAS ranks among the top Czech companies in terms of environmental management. The company has been successful in reducing its environmental impact by standardising corporate processes, evaluating the impact of operations and capital investment on the environment, and providing logistics support for waste collection, recycling and disposal.
The company is dedicated to ensuring compliance with applicable laws concerning auditing and reporting and as well as decisions issued by local, regional and national administrative and inspection authorities. Additionally, NET4GAS has gone to great effort to minimise risks concerning environmental protection and met all of its obligations in this respect in 2007.
NET4GAS has never been reprimanded nor penalised by the authorities and makes publically available its CO2 emissions, which are below the company’s allocation.
In 2007, the company worked to successfully eliminate those areas of its business that could negatively impact the environment. Currently, NET4GAS is committed to monitoring operations to guard against the emission of harmful pollutants.
